Cy TUCKER the Legendary singer who performed with the Beatles died after suffering coronavirus on 24 March 2020 Cy was just 76, “He touched the lives of Merseysiders through his music and smile” sadly died in the Royal Liverpool Hospital after falling ill with symptoms COVID-19. Hugely popular Cy has been described as a “Liverpool legend” by friends and was well-known for his musical talent.

Cy’s, close friend Arthur Kerevan, 69, said the Anfield born musician started showing coronavirus symptoms after playing a gig Saturday 21 March in Liverpool.

It was a very sad day, we have lost the best showman in Liverpool who 'In less than a week had gone from having a healthy and energetic man to one who is no longer here Cy Tucker R.I.P has now joined Bob "BW" and "AW" Alan Williams in the Stars of Stars.

Cy Tucker began his musical career fronting Cy And The Cimarrons who performed alongside The Beatles. Around November 1961 he joined Earl Preston And The TT's, one of the top bands in the city who recorded tracks for Oriole and Fontana. It was with while he was still with the band his first solo single 'My Prayer' was released, selling 30,000+ copies. Cy left the group in January 1964 and formed Cy Tucker And The Friars. Tucker recorded two more singles for Fontana, 'Let Me Call You Sweetheart' and 'My Friend' before retiring from being a professional musician. Cy Tucker And The Friars became one of the best known acts on the Liverpool circuit for over 20 years, establishing Tucker as a loved and recognised name in the city.
